State Bar of Texas Sections (Online Resource) |
A section is comprised of lawyers who practice in similar legal specialties. Each Section is designed to offer closer association between attorneys engaged in specialized fields of law, thus providing the opportunity to share professional experiences. Many sections are offering free memberships for new lawyers.

State Bar of Texas’ Pro Bono Mentor Program (Online Resource) |
Through mentoring, volunteer attorneys who lack experience in a particular legal area rely on the advice and counsel of more experienced attorneys to ensure competent representation of pro bono clients. Attorneys participating in the Pro Bono Mentor Program can earn up to 5 hours of participatory MCLE credit, including one hour of ethics, annually, for time spent in consultations between the mentor and the protégé.
Cases referred by approved pro bono/legal services programs are eligible for the Pro Bono Mentor Program. Contact the Legal Services Support Division for a list of approved programs. Attorneys volunteering with an approved program may be covered under the State Bar Malpractice Insurance.
